Certification AMF

HR Certification Maintenance: AMF and CPE Requirements

After passing the examination and completing endorsement, pay the first Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) to activate your certification. Maintain active status by paying the US$75 AMF annually and submitting the required Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.

How Your LYL HRM Certification Is Awarded

Passing the examination is a key milestone. Your credential is awarded after your experience, examination results, and issuance requirements receive final approval.

Complete Three Award Requirements

  • Pass your certification examination with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Submit your endorsement form for verification of your professional experience.
  • Pay your first Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) of US$75 to initiate the certification award process.

Certification Board Review

The LYL HRM Professional Certification Board reviews your endorsement, verifies your examination results, and confirms that you meet the requirements for certification.

Receive Your Official Credential

Following approval, you receive:

  • An official digital certificate documenting your achievement.

  • A digital certification badge for your professional profile.

  • An Official Certification Registry listing enabling others to verify your credential.

Your awarded certification provides a verifiable record of the requirements you have met.

Initial AMF: Credential Activation

The first US$75 Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) is payable after passing. It covers Certification Board review, credential activation, and issuance of your certificate and digital badge. It also establishes your three-year certification cycle after all requirements are met. These steps confirm your award and enable employers to verify your credential.

Annual AMF: Credential Maintenance

The US$75 Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) is required annually. It supports credential tracking, verification, CPE processing, digital badge maintenance, active registry status, and updates to certification standards. One fee covers all LYL HRM credentials you hold. You must meet Continuing Professional Education requirements to maintain active status.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Requirements

Maintain your HR certification by completing and documenting professional learning each year. CPE activities should be relevant to your credential and supported by evidence for review.

  2. Record each activity and upload supporting evidence.
  3. Submit for review by the Certification Board.

What Happens If Certification Maintenance Requirements Are Not Met?

Failure to pay the Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF) or fulfill Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements results in:

  • Suspension of your certification
  • Removal from the certification registry
  • Deactivation of your digital badge

How to Reinstate Your Certification

Complete all outstanding payment and CPE requirements to qualify for reinstatement. Unresolved non-compliance may lead to permanent revocation under LYL HRM’s certification maintenance policy.

Benefits of Maintaining Your HR Certification

  • Verifiable status: Keep your certification registry record and digital badge active.
  • Ongoing development: Document continued learning relevant to your HR responsibilities.
  • Professional visibility: Show your maintained credential on your résumé and professional profile.
  • Simplified payments: Pay one Annual Maintenance Fee for all LYL HRM credentials you hold.

How HR Recertification Works

LYL HRM certifications follow a three-year cycle beginning on the award date. Recertification occurs automatically at the end of each cycle when all annual maintenance requirements have been met.

To remain eligible, you must:

  • Pay the single US$75 Annual Maintenance Fee covering all your credentials.
  • Complete and submit CPE requirements separately for each certification.

There is no separate recertification fee. The shared AMF covers your credentials’ annual maintenance, while each credential retains its own CPE obligation.

HR Recertification and Certificate Reissuance Process

Complete your annual maintenance requirements throughout the three-year certification cycle to qualify for review and certificate reissuance.

  1. Keep Annual Maintenance Payments Current

Pay the US$75 Annual Maintenance Fee each year. One payment covers all LYL HRM certifications you hold; additional credentials do not require additional AMF payments.

  2. Submit CPE for Each Active Credential

Record and upload supporting evidence separately for each certification through your LYL HRM account:

    • CHRA™: 15 CPE credits annually.
    • CHRBP™: 20 CPE credits annually.
  3. Complete the Three-Year Board Review

At the end of your certification cycle, the Certification Board checks your payment history, individual CPE records, and compliance with certification policies and ethics requirements. Outstanding requirements may delay reissuance.

  4. Receive Your Reissued Certificate

Following approval, your certificate is automatically reissued for another three-year validity period. No separate recertification fee applies.

Keep your payments and CPE submissions current each year to support timely certificate reissuance.
